WICK SHERIFF COURT: Wetherspoons ban and supervision order for drunk Wick man
A Wick man has been banned from a local pub for two years following his drunken behaviour there.
Paul McCann (54) was also made subject to a two-year supervision order after he admitted two charges of assault and one of causing damage at the Wetherspoon pub, The Alexander Bain, on February 3.
The incidents occurred after McCann ignored a request to moderate his behaviour, Wick Sheriff Court was told on Wednesday.
Fiscal Sharon Ralph said that McCann was told by a staff member to leave the premises but was pushed by the accused, causing him to fall. McCann left the premises after damaging a glass door panel.
He was traced by police officers to a neighbouring pub where he was arrested and taken to Wick Police Station where he attempted to kick a constable.

Ms Ralph said that she didn't have an exact figure for the cost of replacing the panel but estimated it would have been between £100 and £200. The cost had been met through insurance.
Sheriff Mark Thorley was told that McCann, of Huddart Street, Wick, had consumed "far too much alcohol" and had remembered little of his actions but was ashamed of them. He had since referred himself to the Caithness Alcohol and Drug Forum.
The sheriff stressed that the supervision order was a direct alternative to a custodial sentence.
