A teenager accused of resisting arrest after allegedly breaching an overnight curfew was released on bail after he appeared from custody at Wick Sheriff Court on Monday.

Mitchell Longmuir pleaded not guilty to leaving his home at 11pm on Sunday in breach of an undertaking in which he was to remain there between 7pm and 7am.

The 19-year-old also denied resisting arrest and trying to avoid being arrested and handcuffed by sitting down, making his body a deadweight and waving his arms around and then tensing them.

Longmuir, of Loch Street, Wick, was bailed pending his trial on October 18.
