A Wick man is alleged to have been responsible for an accident that resulted in a rock breaking from the trailer he was towing and hitting the windscreen of a car following behind him.

Gareth Duncan (39) denied a charge of having a trailer load that was not adequately secured and will stand trial in October.

The accident is said to have occurred at a junction between the A882 and the B870 at Corseback Road, near Watten, on February 9.

Duncan, of Dunbarney, Scalesburn, Wick, will contest the charge at the town's sheriff court on October 4.
