The project helped the pupils enhance their design and graphics skills by using desktop publishing software and working on a real-life design brief provided by a local business.

FNA director Drew Murray said all the design entries were impressive but the entry of S3 pupil Lucy Durrand was "a clear winner" in his eyes.

“Far North Aviation is proud to have a local school providing us with a new company business card," he said. "We are delighted to see that the work going on inside the classrooms is of benefit to local businesses like ourselves. We have kindly donated a sum of money to the school to assist with future projects and trips.”

The technical department staff were delighted to receive the £500 donation and said it would "help provide more opportunities for pupils and to further encourage their passion for design and technology".

Craig Ross, faculty head of art, design and technology, said: “It has been a really great opportunity for the pupils to work on the live brief that Far North Aviation had tasked them with. It has allowed them to develop their ideas in relation to the challenges set by the brief.

"I am really pleased with the outcomes presented by the pupils in S3. I would further like to thank Far North Aviation for allowing the pupils this opportunity and thank them again for their great generosity.”
