Wick Post Office temporarily closed after Covid-related staffing issues

Covid-19 has caused a temporary closure of Wick Post Office in the town's High Street.

A Post Office spokesperson said: “Wick Post Office is temporarily closed due to staffing issues caused by the coronavirus pandemic. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

"We do not have a reopening date yet. In the interim alternative branches include Watten, Gillock and Lybster. There is also a mobile post office service that visits nearby and customers are recommended to visit https://www.postoffice.co.uk/branch-finder for opening days and times.”

A notice dated October 7 has been attached to the post office, stating: “Due to a positive result the Post Office will remain closed until at least Wednesday 13th of October. If we can bring in alternative staffing and complete a deep clean before that time, we will communicate that ASAP. Thank you in anticipation of your understanding and please share.”

The premises at 125-127 High Street opened at the start of this year, giving the town a shop-based post office service for the first time since the end of last October.
