"We are absolutely thrilled to have won first place at the Highland Divisional Final in Nairn," said club secretary Jayden Alexander. "It was a fantastic two evenings of drama especially as the first festival since Covid – it has been great experience for the club and we can’t wait to perform again at the Scottish Final next month.

"It was so warming to see some faces from home supporting us in the audience and words can’t describe how proud I am of our team and everyone involved."

The club performed Womberang, written by Sue Townsend, which is a very fast paced play with lots of laughs, set in a hospital outpatients waiting room in the 1980s. With a cast of 10, it was directed by Jayden who also plays a part in the production.

At the Caithness District round the club secured both the runner-up trophy and the award for the highest acting mark. Wick Players lost a few points on that occasion after the performance ran over the allowed time.
