Wick pair face serious assault charge

Two Wick men are facing a charge of serious assault with a weapon.

Accused are Graham Bain (32), of Kinnaird Street, and 19-year-old David Anderson, of Macrae Street, both Wick.

The indictment alleges that, while acting with others, they assaulted teenager James Watt by striking him on the head with an unknown weapon, causing him to fall to the ground and then repeatedly struck him on the head and body with a knife or similar implement to his severe injury, permanent disfigurement, and the danger of his life.

The assault is said to have occurred in Macrae Street, Wick, on August 20, last year.

The case, called at Wick Sheriff Court on Tuesday, was continued without pleas until September 22. Both accused were allowed bail.
