The cruise ship Lord of the Highlands has made its last scheduled visit to Wick this year, having been a regular sight in the river harbour during the summer while sailing around the Highlands and Orkney.

The 38-passenger ship is owned by Hebridean Island Cruises and shore excursions have included tours of Wick Heritage Museum.

Marketing executive Louise Pratt said: “The itineraries do vary but generally include various ports of call such as Kirkwall, Stromness, Westray, Papa Westray, Sanday, Stronsay, Hoy and South Ronaldsay.

“Generally our shore excursion in Wick includes free time to explore the town and a visit to the museum, which has been very well received by our guests.”

Hebridean Island Cruises’ website describes Lord of the Highlands as a “boutique cruise ship” which is the latest addition to the fleet.
