Wick motorcyclist who died in crash at Watten is named
A teenage motorcyclist who died after a crash in Caithness last month has been named by police.
The biker was riding a Yamaha motorcycle when he was involved in a collision with a Renault Clio on the B874 close to Watten cemetery on April 30.
Eighteen-year-old Luc Trainer, who is from the Newton area of Wick, was taken to Caithness General Hospital where he later died.
Police said his family had been made aware.
An 18-year-old man has been arrested following the crash and has been released pending further enquiries.
Sergeant Calum MacAulay, of Police Scotland’s road policing unit in Dingwall, said: “We are supporting Luc’s family at this very difficult time. They are very much in our thoughts.

“If you have any information that may assist officers with their investigation, please call 101 quoting incident number 4119 of Wednesday, April 30.”
Emergency services were called to the scene at around 10.25pm, and the road reopened at 6.55am the following morning.
Police said at the time that the driver and passenger of the car were uninjured.
