Wick man threw punch after argument spilled onto street

An argument at a house in Wick spilled out onto the street and led to Alexander Macalpine being charged with assault.

He pleaded guilty at Wick Sheriff Court on Monday and also admitted a record of offending.

The court was told that Macalpine (33) got drawn into the argument after it spilled out onto the street in Wellington Avenue, Wick, on September 19, last year. The accused, one of a group of people involved, punched Murray Clelland on the head.

The case was continued until March 23 when Sheriff Christian Marney will consider a background report before passing sentence on Macalpine, of Henrietta Street, Wick.
