Wick man James Mackay jailed for 15 months after threatening children

A MAN has been jailed for 15 months after he was found guilty of threatening two children in Wick.

James Mackay (43), whose address was given as Inverness Prison, was sentenced at Inverness Sheriff Court on Thursday.

Mackay was charged with committing a breach of the peace by conducting himself in a disorderly manner, shouting and swearing at the children aged 11 and six, threatening violence towards them and threatening to set his dog on them and burn down their homes.

The incident took place on Friday, May 13, in a lane between Nicolson Street and Roxburgh Road.

Sheriff John Halley backdated the sentence to Friday, May 16.
