WICK RNLI lifeboat Roy Barker II responded on Saturday morning to a Mayday call from the 37ft Dutch yacht, Josephine.

The vessel, with two people on board, left Wick harbour two hours earlier at 9.30am and, having encountered engine problems, headed back towards port under sail in fairly good weather, with easterly wind and swell.

The lifeboat met the vessel and took it under tow into Wick harbour, arriving safely at 12.15pm.

The lifeboat then returned to its base at Wick harbour where it was quickly made ready for service.
