TWO Caithness employees were among the first group of people to take part in a new residential course aimed at helping talented youngsters make a difference for businesses across the Highlands.

Anna Begg, from Mackays Hotel, and Angela Grain, from KP Technology, both Wick, were among 18 graduates from across the north of Scotland who were part of the ScotGrad graduate placement programme.

Employers selected each graduate who had the right skills for their project through a competitive recruitment process.

HIE’s Ruth Sime said: “The programme gives the opportunity for some of our brightest minds to gain experience working in a small or medium-sized business in Scotland and in turn make a real difference to the organisation employing them.

“This course will support the graduates by enhancing their project management and employability skills while preparing them for their future career.“
