Wick festive crime spree
A STRING of incidents around Wick has resulted in a number of youths being reported to the Reporter to the Children’s Panel.
Two children aged 14 and one 15 years old are to be reported over break-ins that happened recently at the Highland Council yards at River Street and Albert Street and also JMS Express, along with the damage at Wick High School over Christmas.
Four youths are also to be reported along with a 28-year-old man who is to be reported to the procurator fiscal, following a number of dishonesties in the Wick area, including the removal of three vehicles which were subsequently recovered.
A 14-year-old youth is also to be reported to the Reporter in relation to a number of incidents of damage in Wick on Hogmanay.
Detective Inspector Scott Macdonald said: “We will continue to pursue those who are responsible for housebreaking in the Caithness area. Local CID and uniform officers together with specialist officers from Inverness carried out extensive inquiries into these incidents resulting in those responsible being traced.”
