Wick driver nearly three times drink limit

A driver found to be almost three times the legal drink-driving limit was fined £300 and banned for a year at Wick Sheriff Court on Wednesday.

Ryan Bates (20,),of Vansittart Street, Wick, was breathalysed positive by police on the A836, near the Thurso Business Park on September 10, 2022.

A further test revealed a blood-alcohol reading of 144 milligrams, the legal limit is 50 milligrams.
