A Wick driver is facing a string of road traffic offence charges.

Holly Mackay pleaded not guilty to all of the counts when she appeared at Wick Sheriff Court on Tuesday and is due to stand trial early next year.

The 26-year-old is alleged to have driven away a car without the consent of its owner on September 16, and driven the vehicle carelessly by failing to negotiate a corner, and collided with a wall.

Mackay, of Wellington Avenue, Wick, is further accused of failing to stop and give her details and report the incident within 24 hours, driving without licence and insurance and while unfit through drink or drugs, and failing to co-operate with a breath test at Wick police station.

The offences are alleged to have occurred at Buddlea, Dunbeath, and on the A9.

The accused will return to court for her trial on January 9 when her solicitor, Natalie Paterson, will fight her case.
