Wick care home residents treated to afternoon tea and entertainment at Noss Primary School
Residents of Seaview House Care Home and Pulteney House enjoyed a festive intergenerational visit to Noss Primary School this week.
Activities co-ordinator for Seaview House, Mandy Wilson said they were delighted to accept the invitation to afternoon tea and entertainment with P2/3R and P3Y pupils at Noss Primary on Monday (December 12).
"It was lovely to see them all interacting," she said. "We have always had a good relationship with Noss Primary and ELC, but due to Covid-19 we have not visited them since restrictions were put in place. The smiles on all their faces said it all to be honest, and the filter fun just had everyone in the giggles."
Cathie, one of the home's residents, said "sitting with the bairns having mince pies" made her remember her kids concerts when they were little.
The gym hall at the school was set out for the teas and the pupils gave a preview of the songs/carols they are going to sing at the Christmas concerts, which Seaview residents are also very excited about attending. Pupils entertained their guests by taking photos of themselves using festive filters.
It is hoped that this is the start of regular contact with the school again as the residents get so much from intergenerational visits – the staff at the home thrive to promote and encourage these relationships.
Seaview House is run by Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK’s largest care providers, which is committed to delivering high-quality care across its homes and hospitals.
The Wick-based home provides residential care, nursing care and dementia care for 42 residents from respite care to long term stays.
