A Caithness bus company has had changes enforced on its operating licence after a public inquiry.

The hearing in front of the traffic commissioner in Inverness resulted in the licence for Aaron's of Wick being curtailed from 15 vehicles to 10 vehicles.

Other alterations were also made to the licence, although the published decision after the October 26 inquiry did not make clear the reasons behind the changes.

It stated: “Licence curtailed from 15 vehicles to 10 vehicles with effect from 13/11/2023. Undertakings added to the licence.”

Aaron's provides services on behalf of Highland Council in some parts of Caithness.

A Highland Council spokesman said: “The number of vehicles required to be able to operate Highland Council’s contracts is 10, accordingly there is no effect on our contracts.

“Aaron’s had already withdrawn from some other work in order to focus more fully on the contracts, which we welcome.”

Aaron’s of Wick declined to comment.
