STAFF from a Wick chemist shop will be putting their best feet forward when they undertake a charity walk at the weekend.

Eight employees from the town’s Boots store set will off tomorrow morning (Sunday, July 24) and will walk to John O’Groats to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. They hope to complete the trip in around five hours.

Store manager Alison Winter said she and the seven other members of staff – James Ellick, Kenny Hamill, Ashley Aitken, Clare Gunn, Wendy Taylor, Ricky Hernandez and Kirsty Coghill – are looking forward to the walk.

“It will be a massive challenge but we are delighted to help raise money for a fantastic cause,” she said.

“At a personal level, I am really passionate about it because my mum, Sheila Sutton, died of cancer 11 years ago on Tuesday. I am determined to complete this walk and help a worthwhile charity. All the staff feel the same and are keen to succeed.”

She expressed her gratitude on behalf of the staff to the customers who have supported their endeavour.
