Wick and Thurso distilleries to take part in first Highland Whisky Festival

PULTENEY Distillery in Wick and Wolfburn in Thurso are preparing to throw open their doors during the first Highland Whisky Festival, taking place from May 10-17.

Balblair, Clynelish, Glenmorangie are among the other distilleries involved in the festival which is based on the North Coast 500 touring route.

Festival tickets are on sale now.

Three special events are being delivered by the Old Pulteney brand on Saturday, May 11– an exclusive tasting with distillery manager Malcolm Waring, a distillery tour and a Pulteney Pairings food masterclass with chef Jak O’Donnell, Great British Menu contestant and founder of The Sisters restaurant.

The whisky tasting will be hosted in a private warehouse not open to the public.

Wolfburn, the most northerly whisky distillery on the UK mainland, will have an open day on Friday, May 10, with a series of tours led by Charlie Ross and international brand ambassador Mark Westmorland.

Each tour finishes with a tasting on the distillery floor, and there will be an opportunity to purchase a Highland Whisky Festival bottling by Wolfburn.
