Members of Wick and District Gardening Club visited Thurso Community Development Trust's community gardens for their May meeting.

They were given a tour of the site and an informative talk by senior climate development officer Sharon Dismore and three volunteers who also served up tea and cake.

The Wick ladies were very impressed with the project and agreed it was well worth a visit.

They enjoyed some retail therapy in Thurso before heading to Castletown to visit Woodside Garden Centre. The last stop was for an evening meal at the Northern Sands Hotel in Dunnet.

The club's next meeting is in June when members will be planting a tree to commemorate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
