VIEWS on what’s good about life in Wick – and where there is room for improvement – are being sought at a consultation session in the town this Friday (April 12).

It is part of a 12-month project paid for by the Scottish Government’s Aspiring Communities Fund and aimed at identifying inequalities across Caithness.

Wick development officer Jennifer Harvey will run the session from 10am to 3pm at Caithness House, the council building in Market Square.

“I will be asking what’s good, what’s not so good, and what we can do as a community to make things better,” she said.

“I will be collating everyone's views and pulling them together for the next Wick locality plan meeting on April 17.

“At the plan meeting we will have a good mix of people around the table ready to listen to the inequalities that are identified by the people of Wick.

“They will be ready to drive forward on inequalities and look at how they can work together with the local community, agencies and services.”

Opinions are being sought on topics such as:

• Health and wellbeing

• Getting around

• Work and local economy

• Facilities, services and activities

• Community identity and spirit

A previous consultation event, held in the Pulteney Centre, covered drugs, alcohol and mental health issues.
