The 39th annual Aberdeen Clydesdale Show made a welcome return to its new home at Uppermill Farm, Kintore on Saturday, where the star of the show was filly foal, Collessie Aurora.

Having already claimed the foal champion title having gone head to head with the winning colt foal, Paranwell Fantastic Mr Fox bred and owned by Natalie Leslie, in the Foal Championship, Collessie Aurora a February born home bred foal by Collessie Highlander out of Roughlands Jasmine from Ronnie Black of Fife lifted the top prize against two wonderful senior animals in the overall Championship.

The Reserve Overall Champion title was taken by Gersa Lady Emma owned by Jacqueline Munro from Thurso. This wonderful 1 year old filly is by Collessie Monarch out of Gersa Lady Lauren and was champion at Caithness County Show and first in her class at the Black Isle Show.

On the champion, show judge John Drummond said: "She was just so far ahead of the other foals, lovely joints and lovely markings and she has a lot of show potential in years to come."

Show secretary Karen Campbell said: " We can't thank everyone enough for coming along to support us.

"For the competitors, the feeling of pride walking round a ring "alive with chatter" and showing off their beautifully turned out animals is second to none.

"Seeing all of our competitors, the champions and the others taking part in such an environment was just magical.

"All the feedback so far indicates everyone loves the change of venue, it's rural, it's relaxed, it's easy to get to and access."

Compere Ruth Skinner MBE thanked host, Malcolm Allan: "This is our 39th annual show year, and courtesy of Malcolm Allan - as a supporter of the show, we are indebited to him for his entusiasm, not only for the breed but for the show itself and encouraging participation."
