Eight cruise liners are scheduled to arrive at Scrabster in 2014.

HUNDREDS of tourists are set to sail into Caithness when Scrabster welcomes its second cruise liner of the season.

The Voyager will arrive into port on Thursday morning from Rosyth with 586 passengers as it docks in the far north before departing for Stornoway.

The Highland Council have arranged a free bus service for passengers to travel between Scrabster and Thurso throughout the day as the town centre hopes to experience a boost in trade.

The Voyager will be the second biggest vessel to arrive at Scrabster this season, behind the Discovery which brought 700 passengers to the area in March.

A further six cruise liners will arrive at Scrabster between May and August.
