Volunteers needed for Scottish Open at Castle Stuart
The short par-three 11th hole on Castle Stuart Golf Course, near Inverness.
THERE are seven weeks left until the biggest golf tournament ever to hit the North gets under way at the Castle Stuart Golf Course near Inverness.
The Barclays Scottish Open will feature majors stars of European and USA professional golf including last week’s BMW winner, Luke Donald, the world number one.
Spectators, numbering in excess of 50,000, are expected over the four days of play starting on Thursday, July 7, and organisers are looking for volunteers to act as course marshals.
Fortrose and Rosemarkie member Bruce Duncan, a retired police chief superintendent, has been charged to find up to 50 volunteers to assist him in his role as chief marshal.

Crowds on Castle Stuart could be difficult to control – especially on the holes which run along the shoreline.
Anyone wishing to volunteer and who is selected will be rewarded with a free T-shirt and waterproof jacket embossed with the sponsor’s logo, a complimentary ticket which they can pass on to a family member or friend and, when it is all over, a free round of golf on the course.
