Personal carer Viv Gunn from Wick has embarked on a month-long swimming challenge to raise money for charity.

She is aiming to take a cold-water dip every day during September in aid of the Caithness branch of Enable, Scotland's largest charity for people who have learning disabilities.

Viv works with two young adults who benefit from the work of Enable so it was an obvious choice to benefit from her efforts.

She decided to start her "dip a day" fundraiser at the North Baths in Wick where the water temperature was a pleasant 17 degrees.

Willie Mackay, chairman of the Caithness branch of Enable, thanked Viv for her support after a difficult year-and-a-half for charities with the disruption to their normal fundraising activities.

He said: “This is a wonderful challenge that Viv has set up and is thoroughly appreciated by our branch. We haven’t had any opportunities to fundraise or hold events or outings for the past 18 months due to the pandemic."

Donations can be made online through Viv's GoFundMe page.
