A VITAL Highland charity is promoting a unique opportunity for public and business donations to be doubled in value.

Rape and Sexual Abuse Service Highland (RASASH) is “thrilled” to announce its participation in the Big Give Women and Girls campaign. Running from October 10-17, the week-long fundraising initiative aims to raise £10,000 to support crucial services for women and girls affected by sexual violence in the Highland region.

During the campaign, all donations made through the Big Give Campaign page will be matched, doubling the impact of every contribution. For example, this means that a donation of £5 becomes £10, or £20 becomes £40.

RASASH offers free, confidential services, including emotional support and advocacy for survivors navigating the criminal justice system. These funds will directly bolster these vital services, ensuring more women and girls can access the help they need.

Alev Taylor, CEO of RASASH, expressed her excitement for the campaign: "This is a fantastic chance to make a significant difference to women and girls across the Highlands. With every donation being matched, we can ensure even more survivors across the region get the life-changing support they deserve. It’s a powerful opportunity to have twice the impact, and we encourage everyone to get involved to help us reach our goal."

In addition to donations from individuals, RASASH is encouraging local businesses and fundraisers to participate.

Eilidh Little, RASASH’s fundraising worker shared: “This is the perfect time for local fundraisers and businesses to show their support – double your donation, double the difference! By joining The Big Give, your efforts will go twice as far in helping survivors across Highland. We’d love to hear from anyone interested in supporting the campaign at fundraising@rasash.org.uk or through our socials and website.”

RASASH has been giving vital support to survivors of sexual violence in the Highlands for over 10 years. Funds raised from the campaign will allow the organisation to continue expanding its support services, offering a safe space for survivors on their journey toward recovery.
