VIDEO - County show cleans up muddy aftermath
ORGANISERS began the huge clean up operation to remove vehicles from the Caithness County Show field after the site was turned into a muddy mess.
Despite the heavy rain which destroyed the grass at the Riverside and Westerseat Grounds, thousands of people braved the slippery conditions to enjoy the attractions on the day.
Tractors were forced to pull cars and vans from the showfield on Saturday as they were unable to leave the area unassisted due to the state of the ground.
On Sunday, organisers removed most of the vehicles from the site which revealed the true extent of the damage to the showfield which is expected to take months to recover.
