Members of the public will again be able to have their pictures taken in Victorian-style period costume when Wick Heritage Museum hosts its New Year open day.

There will also be a chance to view the museum's extensive range of artefacts, including new and reworked displays.

Visitors will be welcomed at the centre in Bank Row from 11am to 4pm on Tuesday, January 2, with free admission.

As usual, local musicians will be popping in to give a selection of tunes.

As well as showcasing local heritage, the open day is a popular social occasion and an opportunity to catch up with old friends.

The Johnston photographic studio will be "open for business", allowing individuals or groups to have their photos taken in classic Victorian style.

The museum's open day in January 2023 – the first since before the pandemic – attracted more than 200 visitors.
