Vehicle on fire after crash on B876 at Hastigrow this morning

Police and fire crews attended the scene of a two-vehicle crash on the B876 road at Hastigrow this morning (January 6).

One of the vehicles had to be doused by personnel from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service ((SFRS) after catching alight.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 8.10am on Friday, 6 January, 2023, police were called to the B876 near Wick, following a report of a two-vehicle crash and vehicle fire. Recovery has been arranged.”

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 8.14am on Friday, January 6, 2023 to reports of a collision involving two vehicles at the B876 near Wick.

“Operations Control mobilised two fire appliances and specialist resources to a two vehicle collision and firefighters extinguished a fire affecting one vehicle.

“There were no reported casualties and crews left after ensuring the area was made safe.”
