Valentine’s tea dance for Thurso care home residents
Love was in the air as residents of Pentland View care home in Thurso joined in a tea dance ahead of Valentine’s Day.
Residents and family members as well as staff all got involved. Activities coordinator Jeanine Sinclair donned a vintage-style tea dress, adorned with love hearts, while some of the ladies put on their sparkles and red clothes.
The lounge was decked out to suit the Valentine theme, while the china that the residents had picked out over the past few weeks added to the sense of occasion.
Cakes and party foods were provided by the kitchen, while the china tea sets were put to good use when serving tea and coffee.
Jeanine and some of the ladies had a dance about the lounge and a photo booth was provided by Dynamic Sounds Disco.
“We had so much fun going out and shopping for tea sets for the afternoon, and I know that we’ll get use out of them in the future,” Jeanine said.

“The afternoon was lovely and it’s always nice to see the residents having a good time. I wanted to make sure it was a celebration of all of the bonds that we hold so dear, and I hope that I succeeded.”
Pentland View care home is run by Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK’s largest care providers. The home provides residential care, nursing care and dementia care for 47 residents, from respite care to long-term stays.
