Highland Castle Entertainment’s event manager said he is delighted that those under 18 will now be able to see Mànran play in Wick on May 5.

Chris Boxall just confirmed the news ahead of the gig at The Waterfront next week and said that the tickets are now for sale to those under 18 accompanied by an adult.

“This is great news for young folk in the north," said Chris.

"It also gives them an opportunity to come along and see such a world class band right here on their doorstep without having to travel too far, especially with The Ironworks in Inverness now being closed.

"Over the last few years the trad music scene has exploded and is hugely popular with all ages. There are a lot of young people in the community learning and enjoying listening to trad music now and the chance to see this internationally recognised iconic and respected band right here in Caithness will be an exciting experience for all.”

Tickets can be purchased for £15 by calling the box office on 0800 999 4441 and through www.ticketsource.co.uk or on the door with cash or card

Mànran played on BBC1’s Hogmanay show and alongside Lewis Capaldi – a rare treat for Caithness residents to have a class act in their area.
