Repairs to a burst water main in the Harpsdale area near Halkirk were expected to be complete by Monday evening.

Scottish Water said that supplies to the area were interrupted from Monday morning.

In an update posted at 4.30pm, it said the repair was expected to take around two-and-a-half hours to complete.

A spokesman said: "While we carry out the repair please be aware that you may experience no water supply, low/intermittent pressure or discoloured water.

"The water supply will gradually return to normal for customers once the repair has been completed."

They added that the utility firm did not plan to provide bottled water to customers.
