Police Scotland has just released a statement after this morning's road crash on the B874 near Halkirk.

"We were made aware of a crash involving a single vehicle on the B874, close to the junction with the B870 near Halkirk shortly after 7am on Tuesday, 25 April," said its spokesperson.

"One man has been taken to hospital by ambulance and the road has since reopened."

Earlier, there was a statement from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service saying that three of its appliances were sent to the scene on the road between Halkirk and Thurso.
