TWO Caithness organisations have had a boost to their funds of £600 following a joint donation by the local branch of the Unite union.

Caithness Rural Transport and Caithness Befrienders, which are affiliated to the Caithness Voluntary Group, will share the money.

Unite branch secretary, John Deighan, said: "These two groups provide a much needed contribution to the community and our union was pleased to support their work with a donation.

"Since the pandemic it has been obvious the work these groups are providing is vital to the health and well-being of people that rely on the services."

The £600 will be shared by the two charities.
