Connor Pattinson thought he was insured when he drove his uncle's car. But he was wrong, Wick Sheriff Court heard on Wednesday.

Police engaged in inquiries had occasion to speak to the 20-year-old, and when they checked on his documents discovered he wasn't covered.

It cost the accused, of Fergus Court, Louisburgh Court, Wick, a fine of £200 and six points on his licence after he admitted the offence along with a previous record of offending.

The offence occurred on March 13, last year, on the A9 near Thurso.
