WHAT promises to be a fascinating talk on Caithness history is to be held in Castletown.

Caithness History and How to Exploit it is an illustrated evening talk by Professor Donna Heddle, director of the Centre for Nordic Studies, UHI, based in Kirkwall and Scalloway.

The talk will be staged in conjunction with the Caithness Archaeological Trust and people are being invited along to enjoy Prof Heddle’s expertise.

She has a particular passion for research involving looking at communities from within and how they interact but her interests also include Scottish and Northern Isles cultural history, small island studies, language and literature and Old Norse.

She is also the author of a number of publications in these areas and is currently leading several national and international research and cultural tourism projects involving the North Atlantic rim.

The talk will be held at Castlehill Heritage Centre on Tuesday at 7.30pm.
