TWO police vehicles and an ambulance attended the scene of a car crash in Wick this afternoon.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "This happened at 12.30pm on Dempster Street – it involved two vehicles and two people suffered minor injuries."

The incident occurred at the traffic lights and junction between Dempster Street, Francis Street, Thurso Street and Cliff Road.

One of the cars, a burgundy Ford Focus, had its front numberplate lying off and damage to the front passenger side with a light smashed in.

The other car, a white Nissan Micra, had mounted a pavement adjacent to the Rosebank Playing Fields and had significant damage to its passenger door.

The police spokesperson said that no arrests were made and the drivers exchanged details.
