Another two giant turbines are being proposed to go up on "wind mill alley" in Caithness, aka the Causewaymire.

The stretch of moorland off the A9 between Latheron and Roadside has become a hotspot for developers, with a clutch of schemes up and running or in the offing.

Infinergy Ltd – part of the Boralex conglomerate – is behind the latest venture earmarked to go on land west of Toftingall Loch, south of Spittal.

The turbines would stand 149.5 metres tall, have a total potential output of 7.2 megawatts of electricity and be linked to a sub-station and battery storage system.

Locals are being given a chance to view and comment on the plans at exhibitions being held in Spittal community hall on January 31 and Watten community hall on February 1. Each session runs between 1.30 and 7.30pm.
