A brutal street assault by two men and a woman left their victim with several facial fractures.

At Inverness Sheriff Court, Kyle Miller (22), described as an Inverness prisoner but who now lives in Aberdeen, pleaded guilty to assault to severe injury along with his two co-accused.

They were Damon Mackay (31) of Huddart Street, Wick and Abi Macleod (22), of the town’s Upper Dunbar Street.

The attack happened on Dunnet Avenue, Wick on October 8 last year when the victim arrived at the property.

As he let his dog out, he was approached by Miller who asked him to identify himself before beginning to punch him on the face.

Fiscal depute Susan Love said that the man managed to push Miller into the boot of his car before the other two joined in.

Mackay told the victim to let Miller go before unleashing a flurry of punches. Miller again joined in, the victim fell to the ground and Macleod then began kicking him on the head.

Ms Love said: “(The victim) suffered facial fractures to his eye socket, cheek bone and sinuses, as well as having two black eyes, a bleeding nose and cuts and bruises.”

The entire incident was captured on CCTV and the footage was played for Sheriff Eilidh Macdonald who deferred sentence until August 23 on all three for background reports.

Miller was again remanded in custody while Mackay and Macleod had their bail continued.
