Trial set for Wick trio who deny assaulting man in street

Three Wick people are alleged to have forced a person to the ground in a local street, repeatedly punched and kicked him and stamped on his head.

The accused, who have pleaded not guilty on indictment, are Kyle Miller (22), described as a prisoner at Inverness Prison, Damon Mackay (31), of Huddart Street, Wick and 22-year-old Abi Macleod, who lives in Wellington Street, also Wick.

The trio are accused of assaulting a man to his severe injury in Dunnett Avenue, Wick, on October 8, last year.

The case, at the town's sheriff court on Tuesday, was continued until March 1 when the prosecution and defence representatives are expected to have completed their trial preparations.

Matters will then be remitted to Inverness Sheriff Court and a date will be fixed for the trial.
