Trial for Reiss driver accused of failing to allow police to pass

A Reiss driver is alleged to have hampered police officers responding to an emergency.

Robert Falconer pleaded not guilty to a charge of careless driving at Wick Sheriff Court last week.

It accuses the 62-year-old of driving at an excessive speed and failing to allow the police, who were responding to "a priority call", to pass him.

The incident is said to have occurred between Hastigrow and Bower on June 5, last year.

Falconer, of The Forge, Reiss, will stand trial on April 19.
