Trial date set for pair accused of running cannabis factory at historic Caithness house





A new date has been set for two men alleged to have operated a cannabis factory at an historic Caithness house.

The accused are Philip Nicholson (51), who lives in Gairloch, and Damon Mackay (33), of Huddart Street, Wick.

They are also charged with having been concerned in the supply of the Class B drug at Sackville House, Bower, between April 6 and May 4, 2021.

Their trial was provisionally fixed as a standby case, at Wick Sheriff Court last week, in case other indictments didn’t proceed but a new date has since been fixed.

Nicholson and Mackay will return to the dock on March 3, next year, for their trial.
