Train services suspended between Inverness and Wick

TRAIN services between Inverness and Wick have been suspended since 10.30am due to running water on the line at Ardgay.

A First ScotRail spokeswoman said replacement buses are in operation for customers travelling between Inverness and Wick.

She added: “We apologise to customers for any inconvenience due to circumstances outwith our control.”

Meanwhile, Stagecoach said services between Inverness and Wick are going ahead but, due to weather conditions, are behind schedule.

“Our X99 service between Inverness and Wick is operating, but may be subject to delays dependant on road conditions,” said a company spokesman.

“We will continue to monitor the weather situation closely and take decisions based on the road conditions to ensure the safety of our passengers, staff and other road users.”
