YOUNGSTERS at Thurso had a royal celebration ahead of this weekend's coronation of King Charles III.

The Millbank Toddler Group got into the party mood on Wednesday when parents and childminders provided a spread of food for a buffet which included a Victoria sandwich sponge, coronation chicken sandwiches, smoked salmon and soft cheese sandwiches and the official coronation quiche.

Marion McCoustra, who was involved in organising the event, said the children had "a wonderful time" and played on the bouncy castle and with toys.

The Millbank Toddler Group meet in the Thurso Free Church hall on Wednesdays from 10am to 11.30am.
