Community representatives in Thurso have welcomed the impending re-opening of a public convenience just off the town centre.
They and local Highland councillors have been battling to get the Tanyard loo at the Riverside back in commission.
It has been out of action since October 2022 following the latest in a spate of vandalisms.
The local authority earlier this year indicated it had "no plans" to re-open the convenience.
The U-turn was revealed by Highland councillor Ron Gunn at Tuesday's meeting of Thurso Community Council.
He said the breakthrough came when Inverness-based senior official Allan Gunn agreed to come up to see the current dearth of toilet provision for locals and visitors in the town centre.

He agreed the loo at the harbour is too far away to serve people, particularly those who are elderly or have a disability, who are caught short in the town centre.
Councillor Gunn said: "After he came up and saw what we had been talking about, he agreed that the toilet should be re-opened."
