Betty Cunningham, a loyal volunteer at Thurso's Cancer Research UK shop, has received an award to mark 30 years' service with the charity.

In 2017 Betty had the honour of travelling to London to accept a Flame of Hope award in recognition of her long-standing commitment. The Flame of Hope awards celebrate Cancer Research UK's inspiring shop volunteers throughout the country.
