PLANS to create a £2 million sports facility in Thurso are set to be tabled with Highland Council next month, after designs were unveiled to the public for the first time.

Thurso Community Sports Hub has revealed its vision to build a sports hall and 400 metre four-lane running track at the Viewfirth site, at the foot of the Pennyland scheme.

If the project receives the planning green light and funding, it could be up and running by the end of next year.

However the plans by the sports hub, which represents 17 clubs, have drawn a mixed response from members of the public.
