Thurso lifeboat volunteers were called into action on Boxing Day after a report of a person in the river.

Following a request from Police Scotland, The Taylors was launched at 2.40pm on Tuesday.

Police were responding to the report of a person seen in the river and going in the direction of the sea.

The lifeboat quickly made its way to the river mouth and conducted a search of the area using searchlights and thermal camera.

The Taylors was stood down at 3.52am when the Coastguard reported that a person had been traced. The vessel returned to Scrabster and was made ready for service at 4.15am.
