Pennyland Primary pupils were rocking out recently as a group that promotes perseverance through music visited the far north for the first time.

Rock Kidz gives primary schools around the country the opportunity to learn important life lessons in a fun way through high-energy rock star workshops.

They visited the Thurso primary at the end of August – the first time Rock Kidz had visited a school anywhere north of Stirling.

Teacher Fiona Parnell said: “What a huge effort everyone made. There was so much energy and fun whilst taking on board the more serious messages about perseverance, resilience, dreams and aspirations delivered by the wonderful Rock Kidz crew through high-energy workshops for everyone to participate in.

“There were lots of air guitars, rocking and singing with a highlight message of YASBA – You’re Awesome So Be Awesome!

“Staff and children had such a great day and we look forward to those good vibes and positivity continuing into the school year.”
